For Sale: Darth Syncro; Our awesome 1986 VW Syncro (4x4) Type25 Campervan MOT until June 2014, 6 months tax from beginning of July. Darth has been one of the family for four years now, but now our family has outgrown him, it is time for Darth to move on to pastures new. Being a syncro, he is useful all year round, not just for summer camping; we have pulled many a car out of the snow and ice over the last couple of years. Being a classic, insurance can be reasonably cheap. Good Points: MOT to June 2014 6 months tax Great for muddy fields/in snow/ice - crawler gear and front & rear diff locks RHD (one of only 2,000 produced) Petrol/LPG (LPG is currently disconnected from when we replaced the engine, but available so you can travel a bit more cheaply if you want) Gas struts for ease of lift of pop top - just a push and it is up, no worrying about collapsing roof in strong winds! Captains seat (passenger) turns around to provide extra seating in the back when you are having your dinner Double bed in roof Double rock and roll bed in back Grill = toast! (not like them Westfalias!!) 3 way fridge runs on gas/elect/mains. Propex gas warm air heating - very useful for winter camping (needs attention as this hasn't been serviced recently) Engine replaced in 2010 due to broken exhaust studs in heads of old engine (hence low mileage) Bad points: Small amount of seam rash Blower motor failed. Temp gauge not reading No power steering (no more bingo wings!) but you can get this fitted using vauxhall corsa parts Darth comes with round headlights and grill but looks much cooler with squares, which we also have for sale. Darth will only follow you home if you promise to take very good care of him as he is much loved and we may cry a bit when he leaves. As ever, cash on collection only.
